Erie 2030 District Partner Roundtable: Indoor Air Quality with Erie Insurance

Did you know we spend, on average, 90% of our time indoors? Whether in our homes, workplaces, or schools, the majority of our time is spent inside, meaning that the cleanliness of our indoor environment has a major impact on our health and wellbeing.

To protect air quality in our buildings, we must reduce the build-up of indoor pollutants like mold, chemicals from cleaning supplies and cosmetics, paint, building materials, pet dander, and more. The optimum approach involves a holistic set of procedures that incorporate proper building ventilation, air filtration, preventative equipment maintenance, and clean-product purchasing, all balanced with proper sealing and air-tightness to ensure clean air and energy efficiency work well together.

In this lunch-and-learn session of our Erie 2030 District Roundtable series, we will hear from Pat Feikles, Erie Insurance VP of Environmental Management & Energy, about the company’s leadership in maintaining optimum indoor air quality (IAQ) in their buildings and operations and gain a better understanding of how we can each advance these best practices in our own spaces.

Following Pat’s presentation, GBA’s Tobias Chan will share a quick overview of the ways that 2030 District Partners can seek support from GBA to get started in air quality improvement and why our 2026 Indoor Air Quality survey and reporting goal is so important to our shared success in our region. A light lunch will be provided.
