Building Pathways Youth Conference: Materials & Resources
Students are invited to join Green Building Alliance for a day of exploring green building and sustainability trends and the role of green building in combating climate change, as well as the various career tracks in sustainable design, construction, operations, engineering, and more.
Students who attend this session will also gain insight into market trends and learn about career pathways related to responsible building materials and preservation of resources.
Attendees will start the day with an introduction to green building: what it is, who it is for, and where industry evolutions are driving jobs for the future workforce. Students will then learn about what it takes to conceptualize, design, construct, and operate a sustainable building, along with critical roles along the way. During lunch, students will engage with green building professionals and educators in a career fair style setting. Later, students will participate in interactive demonstrations and discussions comparing and contrasting materials and products based on a variety of factors, such as sustainability, cost, and performance, before being dismissed back to school.
Students who attend will…

Gain exposure to industry specific careers and learn how sustainability is embedded
Participate in interactive activities highlighting the importance of high-performance building
Consider their own skills, interests, and experiences when thinking about potential careers in sustainability
