David Landis

David F. Landis became the President of Epic Metals Corporation in 2020 after being a Vice President at Epic for 30 years. Prior to joining Epic Metals David was a certified public accountant for six years.

Epic Metals is a Pittsburgh-based manufacturer of roof and floor deck ceiling systems used in the construction of local projects such as the Pittsburgh International Airport, Pittsburgh Convention Center, and the Carnegie Museum Dinosaur Hall. National projects have included the National Air and Space Museum in Virginia, San Francisco International Airport Terminal and the Dickies Arena in Texas.

For the past 13 years, Epic under David’s leadership has focused on sustainability. Many of Epic’s facilities now have solar or wind turbines to generate electricity. Additionally, Epic has installed 11 charging stations for electric or plug in hybrid vehicles at its locations. The Green Building Alliance in 2021 selected Epic Metals for their prestigious Enterprise Award. The Pennsylvania Solar Center in 2022 selected Epic Metals to receive the Lodestar Award, a distinction given to Pennsylvania entities who are leading the way investing in clean and renewable solar energy.

David served two three-year terms on the Board of Directors of the Braddock Carnegie Library. The first term started as the COVID pandemic began. During these terms the Braddock Carnegie Library raised over $20 million dollars for a major renovation. Additionally, David served on the library’s construction committee that interviewed and selected the contractor for the project. David as a member of the construction committee met semi-monthly through the successful construction project.

At the Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture David led a lecture and design competition each year for 20 years for the 3rd year architecture students. Additionally, David was a guest lecturer at Chatham University.

David has participated on panels at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University.

Currently David is serving on the Preservation Pennsylvania Historic Preservation Awards Review Committee.
