Josh Gould

Josh is the Director of Advanced Grid Solutions and Strategic Planning at Duquesne Light, where he co-leads the company’s Grid Modernization activities and directs/oversees the company’s strategy.

Prior to his current role, Josh has had a variety of experiences at the intersection of energy, entrepreneurship, and innovation including founding Duquesne Light’s Innovation Center, launching a new department at Con Edison the electric utility in New York City called the Innovation Hub, leading the Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E’s) commercialization efforts focused on the electric grid, and either founding or working in a variety of startups in the clean energy space.

Outside of work, Josh volunteers his time at CMU’s Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship, providing office hours to local entrepreneurs, is a Limited Partner at leading seed stage energy investor Climate Capital, serves on the advisory board of investor Convective Capital, and is a mentor at clean energy accelerators Third Derivative and Dartmouth Greenshot.

Josh has a Certificate in Electrical Engineering from Siemens Power Academy, a Master’s of Business Administration from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, and a bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College. In 2021, Josh was named as one of 11 “Champions of Innovation” globally by industry magazine Energy Central. Josh lives with his wife and two children in Sewickley, PA.
