ENERGY Star Portfolio Manager Training
Have you been looking for the first step in reducing your building’s energy consumption? Have you recently partnered with GBA to hit energy reduction targets and make your building more resilient? Join us for a step-by-step onboarding into ENERGY Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM) — the tool that supports all of GBA’s services and starts our partners on their building improvement journey.
ESPM is a free federal tool that enables users to track and visualize the carbon emissions, energy use, and water use of their buildings. ESPM is used by many organizations to understand and benchmark the performance of their building portfolio: approximately 25% of all US commercial building space is being tracked in ESPM. Locally, the Pittsburgh benchmarking ordinance, which is required for buildings 50,000 square feet and larger, requires submittal of building utility data through ESPM.
The 2030 Districts and Resilient Communities programs work with partners to review utility data and enter that data into ESPM. This enables the team to provide personalized performance reports for each building, benchmarking each building against national and local datasets to analyze building performance. This utility data is also analyzed in our annual progress reports, which details how each district/resilient community is progressing toward their established utility cost savings, energy and water use, and emissions goals.
During this training, GBA Staff will provide detailed instructions and guidance on:
Reading utility bills
Creating and setting up a building in Energy Star Portfolio Manager
Sharing your building data with GBA
Entering utility bill information into Energy Star Portfolio Manager
Meet our Speaker
