Meet the Exhibitors

PennTAP – Heidi Shadeck

The Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program (PennTAP) at Penn State helps PA businesses thrive through expert support and innovation. PennTAP conducts energy and operational assessments to help businesses conserve energy and reduce waste, help to identify and secure funding opportunities that offset the cost of capital improvements, and links PA businesses to Penn State student talent, cutting-edge facilities, and faculty expertise.

Creek Connections – Wendy Kedzierski

Creek Connections improves students’ environmental literacy through emphasis on hands-on, inquiry-based investigation of local waterways and sharing what they learn with others at our annual student research symposium and other events.

FirstEnergy PA – Anthony Scarpelli

FirstEnergy Pennsylvania’s Commercial & Industrial Energy Solutions Program helps Meadville businesses and developers identify energy-saving equipment eligible for incentives, information that can strengthen the funding applications Resilient Meadville helps support.

Meadville Shade Tree Commission

2025 has been an event filled year for the Meadville Shade Tree Commission. A year of grands awarded, tree care classes, plantings, and the annual Arbor Day Celebration. The Shade Tree Commission is a 5-member commission that determines how the shade tree budget is to be allocated. The budget is expended on planting, removing, and trimming street trees.

Common Roots and HOPE

Common Roots and HOPE will be sharing their work on learning how to develop in a regulated floodway within the Fifth Ward community in Meadville. Work is being done to learn the needs of the community, compile resources and training on funding available to rehab or construct homes in a floodway, how to obtain them, and the hurdles builders face when developing in these spaces.

More About Resilient Meadville

Resilient Meadville is a part of GBA’s broader mission to create sustainable, economically vibrant communities where every person can thrive. Resilient Meadville is made possible with support from the Met-Ed/Penelec Sustainable Energy Fund.

Through education, collaboration, and innovation, we empower local leaders to improve communities through the transformation of the built environment. Resilient Meadville events bring topics to the community designed to educate, inspire, and provide examples of building energy efficient projects, how to increase resilience against extreme weather events, financing opportunities for building upgrades, and more.
