Resilient Reading Roundtable: Water Conservation 

Join the Green Building Alliance Reading Cohort for an engaging and solutions-focused roundtable on Water Conservation Best Practices. This event brings together sustainability leaders, building owners, and community advocates to explore innovative strategies for reducing water waste and promoting resilient infrastructure across Reading. 

 

A virtual attendance option is also available. A link will be provided to registered attendees leading up to the event.

 

The agenda will focus on water conservation, the importance of water leak detection, business best practices, and networking. Speakers include Bill Murray, Executive Director, Reading Area Water Authority (RAWA), and Bethany Ayers Fisher, Sustainability Manager, City of Reading Public Works Department. 

 

Attendees will:

– Receive guidance on how to read their water bill

– Gain insight on how potable water reaches our tap

– Explore strategies for conserving water 

 

Meet the Speakers

Bill Murray, Executive Director, Reading Area Water Authority (RAWA)

 

Bill Murray is Executive Director of the Reading Area Water Authority (RAWA), a position he has held for the past eight years. Bill serves as Vice Chairman on the Berks County Water and Sewer Association, is a member of the Advisory Board at the Center for Excellence in Local Government at Albright College, and serves on the Advisory Board and Board of Directors of the 18th Wonder Improvement Association. Bill advocates for a One Water approach to our most precious resource management. 

 

Bethany Ayers Fisher, Sustainability Manager, City of Reading Public Works Department

 

Bethany serves as Sustainability Manager for the City of Reading, is a Champion of One Water, and is involved with GBA. She is passionate about stewardship, conservation, creative planning, and community engagement.
