Revitalizing Buildings, Strengthening Community: Resilient Reading Progress Report
Join Green Building Alliance and Resilient Reading partners as we trace the redevelopment journey of the City of Reading and highlight local projects demonstrating sustainable building practices and energy efficiency improvements with representatives from Reading Cable Company, Valsage, LLC and the City of Reading.
The program will include a celebration of progress and projects completed to date through Resilient Reading, a multi-year initiative established in 2024 to connect business and building owners, nonprofits, and community members with practical solutions for energy efficiency, resilience, and improving and upgrading their buildings regardless of size or budget. More About Resilient Reading
Resilient Reading is part of GBA’s broader mission to create sustainable, economically vibrant communities where every person can thrive. Resilient Reading is made possible with support from the Med-Ed/Penelec Sustainable Energy Fund.
Through education, collaboration, technical assistance, and innovation, GBA empowers local leaders and community partners to improve communities through the transformation of the built environment. Resilient Reading events bring topics to the community designed to educate, inspire, and provide examples of building energy efficiency projects, how to increase resilience against extreme weather events, financing opportunities for building upgrades, and more.
