Green & Healthy Schools Resources

The resource pages below can assist schools on their journeys towards building a culture of sustainability for the next generation, from curriculum and professional development to facility management.

School buildings are among the most important properties, as our most precious building users—young children—spend 1,000 hours per year in them.

Because school buildings have limited resources and often struggle with leaky buildings, inefficient or outdated HVAC systems, and poor indoor air quality—and because where our children learn is critical to their social determinants of health and learning outcomes—prioritizing healthy and efficient design, construction, and building operations is critical.

Green Building Alliance works with a variety of K-12 stakeholders to ensure that our region’s school buildings are healthy, sustainable, and inspiring places to learn.  If you represent a K-12 school and would like additional assistance from GBA’s team, you can engage with us through general Technical Assistance, our Green & Healthy Schools Academy, or by becoming a Property Partner in our 2030 District.
