Candice Murrell serves as Director of Professional & Student Learning at the Consortium for Public Education, where she leads initiatives that help students become engaged problem-solvers and educators build stronger, more connected school communities. Her work brings together her long-standing passion for education and her belief in the power of people and partnerships to create meaningful change, including through student sustainability projects and educator learning communities focused on belonging and student leadership. Candice began her career as a fifth-grade teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina, through Teach for America, and over the past 22 years has worked across education, nonprofit, and business settings before returning to her roots in education. She holds a Master of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh.
