Stop 13: PNC Park

115 Federal Street, Pittsburgh, PA, 15212
*Viewed from the Three Rivers Heritage Trail along Allegheny River

Situated directly across the river from downtown, PNC Park is well within view from your walking tour and is home of the Pittsburgh Pirates Major League Baseball Team. The team is known for its innovative waste initiatives, and ballpark staff implement creative solutions for reuse. For example, 100 tons of used concessions fry oil was donated in the past decade to energy corporations for conversion into biofuel. The team manages programs like Duquesne Light Power Hitters, which plant one tree in marginalized communities for every home run hit by the home team to counter the urban heat island effect.
