Green & Healthy Schools Resources
Resources to assist schools in building a culture of sustainability for the next generation, from curriculum and professional development to facility operations and management.
School buildings are among the most important properties, as our most precious building users—young children—spend 1,000 hours per year in them.
Because schools and school districts have limited resources, they often struggle with leaky buildings, inefficient or outdated HVAC systems, and poor indoor air quality. Because the places where our children learn impact their social determinants of health and learning outcomes, prioritizing healthy and efficient design, construction, and building operations is critical.
Green Building Alliance works with K-12 stakeholders to ensure that our region’s school buildings are healthy, sustainable, and inspiring places to learn. If you represent a K-12 school and would like additional assistance from GBA’s team, engage with us through general Technical Assistance, our Green & Healthy Schools Academy, or by becoming a 2030 District Property Partner.
