GPRO (Green Professional Training)

GPRO, short for Green Professional Training, is a certificate program created by Urban Green Council that provides those who build, renovate, and maintain buildings with the tools to integrate high-performance construction and maintenance practices into their everyday work.

This training fills an essential gap in opportunities for facilities and operations personnel to learn and share best practices for operating healthy and high-performing buildings. The GPRO program offers a number of courses that focus on sustainable building construction, operations, and maintenance. Green Building Alliance offers both the Fundamentals and Operations & Maintenance courses and also hosts the corresponding exams.

Courses equip participants with strategies for reducing building energy use while improving tenant comfort and health and executing best practices of sustainable building operations. Participants learn useful tools to measure building performance and reduce energy consumption and costs, and leave with an individualized action plan. .

Who Is Eligible?

Anyone can take the GPRO exam. Courses and certificates focus on specific trades, but all building stakeholders can benefit from them. Prep courses – including those offered by Green Building Alliance – include an open-book exam. Upon passing the exam, participants receive their GPRO certificate.
